Jagran correspondent, Dhanbad. A four-day skill development program on precision surveying using modern equipment began at the Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (SIMFER). The program organized for final year students of mining and civil engineering departments of Government Polytechnic Bhaga and Dhanbad will continue till February 20.
In the inaugural session, Sinfar Director Professor Arvind Kumar Mishra introduced the students to subsidence and surveying. Said that it has an important role in both mining and civil engineering. Accurate surveying is essential not only in mine planning, mine development and infrastructure stability but also in advanced fields such as satellite and missile launching.
He suggested the students to actively participate in the training sessions. Said that such training will be helpful in career development by giving them industry related expertise.
25 students including Amarnath, Head of Technology Management and Research Group (HORG) of ISTAG, Dilip Kumbhkar, Head of Human Resource Development Department, Dr. Amar Prakash, Head of Research Group of Mine Subsidence and Surveying and Nodal Officer Skill Development Program Dr. Jitendra Kumar Singh, Dr. Aniket Verma and Dr. Abhay Kumar Bharti participated.
