Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board has given instructions to more than 50 industrial units to install OCEMS (Online Continuous Emission Monitoring System). For this, 31st December has been fixed, on which the entrepreneurs demanded to extend the fixed time limit.
In this regard, Finance Secretary of Industrial Area Manufacturers Association, Anil Taneja submitted a memorandum to Joint Commissioner Industries Shrinath Paswan, in which he told that the cost of installing OCEMS is four to six lakh rupees, whereas the financial condition of most of the entrepreneurs in the area is not strong.
The vendors authorized by the pollution department are themselves asking for six to eight weeks' time to install the system. In such a situation, how will the system be installed by the deadline of 31st December?
He said that there are many units which operate throughout the year, but the air quality index remains low in the months of June-July. In such a situation, it is wrong to hold only industries responsible for pollution. Industrial organizations and entrepreneurs demanded from the Pollution Control Board that extension should be given till the month of March to install the system and the vendor's obligation should be removed.
