Jagran correspondent, Meerut. Afghanistan cricket team's star player bowling all-rounder and T-20 team captain Rashid Khan said that his first goal is to win the ICC trophy for his country. Another important goal is to organize international cricket matches in Afghanistan, which will help in further promoting cricket in the country.

Rashid Khan, who came to Meerut to collect bat and other cricket equipment from SG, while sharing his cricket journey, said that he also started playing cricket when he was younger after seeing his elder brothers playing with taped balls.

Rashid Khan told that his brothers encouraged him to play bowling after seeing his bowling skills but his parents did not allow him to play cricket. He used to inspire him to study and become a doctor. That's why Rashid used to go to play cricket hiding from his parents. At the age of 16-17, he went for trials for Under-19 and was selected in the team there.

Told the parents after being selected in the team. Father was still not in favor of playing cricket but mother supported. After that, he got a chance to play for Afghanistan in the Under-19 World Cup. On the memories of playing the Under-19 World Cup, Rashid Khan said that he always remembered Rishabh Pant's sixes there. At that time Rishabh was playing with SG's bat only. From then onwards he also started playing with SG's bat.

When a four was hit in the first ball, the courage was lost, the first wicket boosted the enthusiasm.

Rashid Khan told that his name came in IPL after performing well in the T-20 World Cup. Told that when he went to play the match for the first time, he felt overwhelmed after seeing so many spectators and noise. Felt like I had come to a wrong place. At the same time, a four was hit on the very first ball and after hearing the noise of the stadium, I felt that I had reached the wrong place. I was losing courage when I got a wicket in the very second over and my whole state of mind changed. Told that in just 10 minutes my mood changed and I felt that now I can play. In the very next match, he became man of the match by taking three wickets and his confidence kept increasing.

Had I not been able to become a cricketer, I would have become a doctor.

On the question of bearing the pressure, Rashid Khan said that he was afraid of the pressure of the first match. Now the pressure is pleasurable. Told that now they themselves find situations with more stress and pressure. Especially in the last over, in matches where the ball and runs are competitive, he himself demands to bowl. Rashid told that Virat Kohli is such a batsman who can play every type of ball, hence like every bowler, he also has fear in his mind. Apart from this, he praised the hitting of Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma. Said that if he had not become a cricketer, he would have become a doctor and treated patients.
