Digital Desk, New Delhi. The layers of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's dark exploits have now reached one of Harvard University's oldest and most exclusive organisations, the 'Hasty Pudding Institute'. Indeed, recent documents released by the US Department of Justice reveal that despite his conviction in 2008, Epstein remained a major donor to the institute and "Guardian of the Sphinx" from 2013 until his death.
In fact, Jeffrey Epstein was a major contributor to the Hasty Pudding Institute, a group founded by Harvard University students. Epstein was not only part of this prestigious club, but he used his clout and wealth to fill his reserved tables with "girls."
Because of his annual donations of at least $50,000 to the Hasty Pudding Institute, Jeffrey was honored as "Patron of the Sphinx" at Order of the Golden Sphinx ceremonies in New York from at least 2013 to 2019.
According to email records, Epstein's assistant wrote in a 2015 message, "Hello girls! Jeffrey would like you all to attend the Hasty Pudding Gala being held at the Plaza Hotel on April 13, let me know if you can come and who else we can invite on the list of 10 people." Epstein's assistant wrote this message to people whose identities were kept secret.

Emails in Justice Department files revealed how Epstein used a variety of institutions, including prestigious universities, as part of his network. Recently released documents with professors, donors and societies also indicate that Harvard's ties to Epstein's web of influence may be deeper than previously thought.
According to the organization's website, this social club is "an integral part of the Harvard experience." It is the oldest club of its kind in the US and its members include five former US Presidents. “There is no other college organization like it in the world,” the website says.
Justice Department documents show that Epstein donated at least $375,000 to the organization from 2013 until his death. This figure was previously reported by the Harvard Crimson.
Emails included in the documents show that in 2018, Epstein asked Andrew Farkas, president of the Hasty Pudding Institute, a real estate magnate and Harvard supporter, if he wanted to sit at his table of 10 at the gala. Farkas replied - Yes.
Farkas and Epstein exchanged approximately 2,000 messages, which have been included as part of documents released by the Justice Department, and their relationship spanned more than a decade.
According to Justice Department documents, Epstein was asked by his assistant in March 2019 whether he wanted to invite guests to that year's gala or donate a table for others to use. It appears that he began arranging for his desk to be filled, but eventually he donated it.
In July 2019, Epstein was arrested, with prosecutors in New York accusing him of sexually abusing girls as young as 14. A month later, Epstein was found dead.
Was convicted in 2008
A report published by Harvard in 2020 revealed that the university had received more than $9 million in donations from Epstein between 1998 and 2008. In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to charges in the state of Florida, including soliciting a minor for prostitution. This donation was made for research and faculty activities. Epstein did not receive any donations after his conviction.
