Prem Singh, living in Rohini (Delhi), had gone to his native village to celebrate the completion of his younger son's marriage, where he had to perform religious functions. Here the relatives from the village reached Delhi. Family members said that the deceased was cremated at Nigam Bodh Ghat in Delhi.
The road accident took place after midnight on Thursday near Kothi Khidmatpur village on Amroha Road. Prem Singh, resident of House No. 180-81, Sector-23, Rohini, along with his mother Madhudevi, son Lalit Singh Rawat, daughter-in-law Sunita, grandsons Chitraharth and Bunty, had left for Khatalgaon in their native village Valla Salt.
Lalit Singh was driving the car. Due to dozing, the unbalanced car collided with a tree on the roadside. 65-year-old Prem Singh Rawat and his grandson Chitraharth died on the spot in the accident. Four injured including Lalit are admitted in Moradabad. As soon as the accident was known, nephew Prakash Singh, Hira Singh and his son Deepak and other relatives left for Delhi.
Prakash Singh said that Prem Singh was cremated on Saturday. He had a factory in Delhi to make parts of refrigerator, AC etc. He told that after the marriage of younger son Virendra Singh, there was a puja program in the Manila temple of the area.
Despite being settled in Delhi, he kept visiting his village. He used to come with his family to religious rituals and auspicious functions. Village head Surendra Singh also expressed grief. There is an atmosphere of sadness in the village.
