Jagran correspondent, Agra/Fatehabad. Taking major action, Dauki police station of Uttar Pradesh Police arrested six vicious accused of interstate theft gang. Police have recovered about 22.500 kg of stolen silver, two pistols .315 bore, cartridges and Rs 1750 in cash from their possession. The arrested accused are said to have a long criminal history and have been involved in theft incidents in many districts. On Sunday, the Douki police team was checking the area in search of the wanted accused. Meanwhile, on the information of the informer, the police surrounded Tundla Road, Wajidpur near the gate of Jangjit Singh Degree College and arrested six accused.

When asked about their names and addresses, they gave their names as Dharamveer son of Moolchand, Satyaveer son of Moolchand, resident of Garhi dependent police station Pachokhara Firozabad, Meghraj son of Diwan, Manoj son of Goliram, resident of village Jhoriyaan police station Pinahat, Anil Yadav son of Munshilal Yadav resident of Sudama Nagar, Murgi Wali Gali, Police Station North, Firozabad, and Ramveer son of Ram Singh resident of village Nagla Daya, police station Basai Mohammadpur, Firozabad is included.

Large quantity of stolen goods recovered

The police recovered about 22.5 kg of silver from the possession of the accused, which included silver rings, bangles, small and big earrings, anklets, strings, Shivalinga, gada, fish and nettle and other jewellery. Apart from this, two illegal pistols .315 bore, cartridges and Rs 1750 in cash were also recovered.

During interrogation, the accused told that the recovered silver was stolen from the shop of Chauhan Jewelers located in RK Puram, Delhi on February 14. The incident was confirmed after contacting RK Puram police station.

The accused have also admitted to committing thefts by breaking locks of houses and shops in Shamshabad, Nibohara, Achhnera and other areas. The gang members used to divide the money received by selling the stolen goods among themselves. SP City East Abhishek Aggarwal said that all the arrested accused are vicious criminals and cases of theft and Arms Act are registered against them in many police stations. The police is conducting a detailed investigation into their criminal history and the search for other members associated with the gang is also going on.
