Shobhit Srivastava, Lucknow. The state government is now busy in making governance 'smart'. Preparations have started to speed up the slow processing of files and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) based solutions in place of traditional monitoring system.
For 'Smart Governance', emphasis will be laid on decisions based on data and solutions based on technology. Brainstorming has started on in which areas work can be made more transparent, quick and effective through AI technology.
Chief Secretary SP Goyal has instructed all the departments to prepare and send a detailed action plan towards innovation-based reforms after examining the services and procedures available in them within a month.
The Chief Secretary believes that currently AI based solutions are proving to be extremely helpful in strengthening administrative efficiency, data analysis, complaint redressal, service delivery, monitoring and decision making process.
In such a situation, every department should examine its available services and functioning and prepare concrete proposals for innovation-based improvement.
In this, the departments have been asked to increase timeliness and transparency in citizen services, make the grievance redressal mechanism more responsive, use digital tools in monitoring and evaluation of works and emphasize on training and capacity building to increase the efficiency of human resources.
All departments have been asked to submit their detailed action plan in this regard to the government within a maximum of one month, so that AI-based administrative reforms can be implemented in a phased manner. This is being seen as an important initiative towards digital governance in the state.
This initiative is being considered as a sign not only of technical change but also of change in administrative work culture. After effective implementation, the image of governance in the state can become more transparent, accountable and result oriented.
