Passengers will get relief with the start of Shankh Air flight service from Prayagraj Airport to Lucknow-Ayodhya.
Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. There is a big and relief news in the new year for the air passengers of Sangam city. The new aviation company 'Shankh Air' will soon start its services from Prayagraj Airport. After interstate flights being closed for a long time, now the arrival of Shankh Air is expected to give new wings to the air connectivity of Prayagraj.
Timetable will be included in the summer schedule
The Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will include Shankha Air flights in its authorized timetable in the upcoming summer schedule (March). This aircraft can provide its services six days a week or the whole week. The special thing is that a consensus has been reached in the meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee for the operation of Shankha Air. It is expected that the company will start its initial operations in the first fortnight of January itself, which will be regularized from March.
There is no direct flight from Prayagraj to any city in the state.
Currently there is no direct flight service available from Prayagraj to any city within Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, due to closure of Indigo flights operated to Lucknow and Gorakhpur, passengers were facing a lot of inconvenience. Shankha Air is preparing to fulfill this deficiency. In the first phase, Prayagraj will be connected to important cities like Ayodhya and Lucknow. Apart from this, route charts are also being prepared for other major cities of the state.
There was air service for 15 major cities
There was a time when Prayagraj was directly connected by air to 15 major cities, but due to technical and commercial reasons this number has reduced to only six-seven. At present, flights are available from here only to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad and Bilaspur. In such a situation, the arrival of Shankha Air is being seen as an expansion of the shrinking air services.
Process to connect Shankha Air started
Chandrashekhar Ojha, member of the Airport Advisory Committee, termed it a pleasant initiative and said that this will not only increase the number of flights, but will also provide new destinations to the passengers. Airport Director Rajesh Chawla has confirmed that the process of connecting Shankha Air to Prayagraj has started and detailed information has been given to the advisory committee. This new service of Shankha Air will not only boost tourism, but will also further strengthen the connectivity of Kumbh Nagri with other parts of the country and the state.
