Anger Among Lawyers Over Advocate Murder Case In Rampur, Will Hold Indefinite Strike And Traffic Jam From Today

Jagran correspondent, Rampur. Anger is increasing among the lawyers due to non-arrest of the accused in the case of shooting of advocate Farooq Ahmed Khan in broad daylight in the District Panchayat.

The lawyers have announced to go on an indefinite strike from Friday. It has also been decided to surround the District Magistrate and block the highway.

Bar Association General Secretary Mohammad Usman said that all the advocates will gather in front of the Bar Bhawan at 11 am. From here, they will reach the highway in front of Ambedkar Park in the form of a procession and block the road.

On the other hand, the police administration has also become alert regarding the traffic jam by the advocates. To ensure that law and order is not disturbed, police force will be deployed from the court to the highway.

Advocate Farooq Ahmed Khan was shot dead in the District Panchayat on Wednesday. The advocate's wife Gausia is a clerk in the District Panchayat. Asghar Ali, the clerk at the establishment counter of the District Panchayat, had interrupted his wife for coming late to the office.

The advocate had reached the District Panchayat office after his wife called him. Here he had a dispute with the clerk, after which the clerk opened fire on the advocate with his licensed pistol. He died after being shot in the chest. There is anger among the advocates after the incident.

The advocates have also demanded removal of the Civil Lines Kotwal, arrest of the murder accused, compensation of Rs 5 crore to the deceased family and implementation of the Advocates Protection Act.

The Bar Association has announced to remain on strike until their demands are not met. In this movement, we have sought the cooperation of Bar Associations and Tehsil Bar Associations of all the districts of the state.
