Jagran correspondent, West Delhi. The patience of the relatives of Kamal Dhyani, who lost his life in a tragic accident on Joginder Singh Marg in Janakpuri, is now paying off. The victim's family and local residents opened a front from Sunday morning, alleging the negligence of the Water Board and lax action of the administration.
Under the leadership of Kamal's father Naresh Dhyani, a large number of people gathered near Bharti College and took out a tribute rally, which later turned into a dharna at the incident site.
Kamal died on the spot
It is noteworthy that on the night of February 5, the bike of Kamal Dhyani, who was returning from Rohini to his home Kailashpuri, had fallen into a deep pit dug by the Jal Board. This pit, located in the middle of the road, had neither any safety barricade nor any warning light at night. Due to this administrative negligence, Kamal died on the spot.

The protesters say that the police and the department have only supplied food. Although the sub-contractor who dug the pit and one of his employees have been arrested in the case, the top officials of KK Spun India Limited, the main responsible company, have not been prosecuted. Only the lower level employees are being made scapegoats. The real culprits, who ignored safety standards, are still not behind bars.
Government job will be sought
This protest continued till the evening, later after the police officer assured the relatives of fair investigation and appropriate action, they went back from the protest site. During this time, the relatives have made it clear that they will not let this legal fight stop. A petition will soon be filed in the Delhi High Court, demanding strict action against the culprits, appropriate compensation and a government job for one of the family members.
