Small form of Sahastra Shivalinga installed in Virat Ramayana temple located in Kaithwaliya. (Awakening)
Dialogue Associate, Kalyanpur. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, the small Sahastra Shivalingam and Lord Nandi were duly consecrated in the world's largest Virat Ramayana temple complex under construction in Kaithwalia Janaki Nagar located on Chakia-Kesaria path. With this, devotees will now be able to perform Jalabhishek regularly.
Yesterday, on January 17, a Sahastra Shivalingam weighing 210 tonnes and 33 feet long and 33 feet thick was installed on the base of the temple.
After this, a large number of devotees were coming every day for darshan, but due to the ongoing construction work, they were not able to perform Jalabhishek.
Keeping in view the faith and convenience of the devotees, the temple committee decided to establish small Sahasrashivalingam and Nandi Lord in the premises near Pokhara. In the life-consecration ritual, village priest Sadhu Tiwari sat as per the Vedic rituals. Acharya Bhavnath Jha completed the Shiva puja with chanting of mantras.
On this occasion, Pandit Ramchandra Jha, Shashinath Jha, Vipin Tiwari and Ashok Pathak recited Vedic mantras. There was a devotional atmosphere throughout.
Sambodh Jha, engineer of the company constructing the temple, said that the work was being affected due to the increasing crowd of devotees in the under-construction temple. Keeping this in mind, the committee has established a small Sahastrashivalingam at a separate place, so that the devotees can easily perform Jalabhishek and the main construction work also continues smoothly.
Now devotees will be able to pay their respects by performing Jalabhishek at the newly constructed site, which will also reduce the pressure of crowd in the campus.
