Angoori Devi, 30, wife of Ravidas, resident of village Lehra, consumed poisonous substance on Saturday evening. When Angoori Devi's condition worsened, she was admitted to the Community Health Centre. Dr. Amresh Kumar gave first aid and Angoori Devi was referred to Lohia Hospital. There, at 9:30 pm on Saturday night, Dr. Deepak Tiwari declared Angoori Devi dead.
On Sunday, Angoori Devi's father Jaiveer Singh, resident of village Sahjana taluk of Jalalabad district Shahjahanpur Kotwali, reached Lohia Hospital along with other relatives. He told that a year ago his daughter Angoori Devi was married to Ravidas Diwakar. Alleged that the in-laws killed the daughter by feeding her poisonous substance.
Angoori Devi's first marriage took place in Pachrauli village of Kayamganj. He had two daughters. The third daughter was born to Ravidas. Angoori Devi's husband Ravidas and mother-in-law Mayadevi told that Angoori Devi used to talk to someone on the phone for many days. Angoori's parents were also informed about this on Saturday. After that Angoori Devi consumed poisonous substance.
Kotwali in-charge Madanmohan Chaturvedi said that action will be taken on the basis of post mortem report. Dr. Navneet Kumar conducted the post-mortem of Angoori Devi. Since the cause of death was not clear, the viscera was preserved for examination.
