Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. Indian Railways: There is a plan to build a pitline in Burari for the maintenance of trains. For this, the engineers of Malda division along with the team of local officials inspected the site. Soon the survey team will also come from Delhi. After receiving the survey report, the further process will be expedited and the line will be laid till Barari via Gopalpur. One and a half dozen trains including Vikramshila Express, LTT, Ang Express, Vananchal Express, Amarnath Express, Janseva Express and Bhagalpur-Danapur Intercity operate daily from Bhagalpur. Presently the coaching yard has one less pitline for shunting. As part of the plan to increase the number of trains in the coming time, work is being done on expansion of the yard.

The first phase of the yard will be built from Bholanath bridge to Bhikhanpur Gumti number two. Four-five establishing lines will be laid in Burari and there will be facility for shunting of five-six trains. For this, it will be mandatory to vacate the railway quarters and remove encroachment from the railway land. The authorities have started the process of issuing notices. To lay the tracks till Burari, like Bhikhanpur Gumti number one and two, an underground line will be required near Gumti number three. An official of Malda division said that East Panel also has sufficient vacant land.

Meanwhile, Eastern Railway General Manager (GM) Milind Deuskar will conduct the annual inspection of Bhagalpur station on February 12. He will inspect the remodeling of Bhagalpur Coaching Yard, two-storey holding area, crew lobby and running room to be built for crowd control during Holi and Chhath. After this he will also take stock of Bhagalpur-Hansdiha railway section, Godda Coaching Yard, Rampurhat-Dumka railway section and other railway projects. The station building is being painted and the cleanliness system is also being improved. Officials say that the expansion of pitline and yard will increase the shunting facility of trains and the plan to increase the number of trains will be implemented smoothly in the coming time.
