Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. Ghaziabad Development Authority is preparing a list of private developers who do not allot EWS and LIG buildings on time, so that action can be taken against them.

GDA Vice President Nand Kishore Kalal has given instructions in this regard. The effect of the strict instructions given by him is also now visible, the way has been cleared for the applications for a total of 2,986 buildings of the weaker income group under construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban in the projects of private developer M/s SGS Construction and Developers Pvt. Ltd., SGS City-I and City-II. Applications are being invited for the buildings from today, which will be taken till January 15.

Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) Vice Chairman said that interested and eligible applicants can apply within the stipulated time. Detailed information related to the scheme, eligibility, conditions, application process and other guidelines is available on the website of Ghaziabad Development Authority.

GDA VC said that other private developers have also been given strict instructions for the construction and time bound allotment of EWS and LIG category buildings under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Authority Secretary to monitor this. Which is regularly reviewing the work being done by private developers.

At present the final price per building of weaker income group has been fixed at Rs 4.98 lakh. In this amount, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban, financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh will be provided by the Central Government and Rs 1 lakh by the State Government.

Thus, after reducing the total grant amount of Rs 2.50 lakh, the allottee will have to bear only Rs 1.98 lakh per flat. Depending on the actual cost of the project, it may be partially reduced or increased as per rules.
