State Bureau, Dehradun. The state government has taken steps towards strengthening the Chaukhutia sub-district hospital. In this context, along with creating 53 new posts, the Health Department has also given a government order to release an amount of Rs 25 lakh for building expansion, capacity increase and modern facilities. Separate orders have been issued for these by Secretary Health Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar. According to the order regarding approval of posts, a total of 53 posts have been created for the smooth and effective operation of the Upazila Hospital. Of these, 42 posts will be filled on regular basis and the remaining posts will be filled under outsourced system.
These include posts like Chief Medical Superintendent's Physician, Surgeon, Pediatrician, Gynecologist, Ophthalmologist, Orthopedic Specialist, Radiologist, ENT Surgeon, Public Health Specialist, General Duty Medical Officer, Dermatologist and Dentist. Apart from this, posts for paramedical staff have also been created. These include nurses, lab technicians, pharmacists and other support staff.
An amount of Rs 25 lakh has been approved. In the order related to financial assistance, an amount of Rs 25 lakh has been approved for the initial construction work. In this, DPR and preliminary works are approved against the estimated budget of Rs 87.20 lakh prepared by Uttarakhand Agricultural Produce Marketing Board. In the government order, it has been made mandatory to follow strict standards for construction works. Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar told that by developing Chaukhutia as an upazila hospital, the regional people will get better, accessible and quality health services at their doorstep through human resources, deployment of specialist doctors and construction of modern buildings.
