Samvad Sutra, Araria. In Padampur village of Jokihat police station area, a mother killed her elder daughter by pushing her from a high place. The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge IV Ravi Kumar completed the hearing in this murder case.
The court has considered this incident as a crime against humanity and after the allegations were proved, after hearing the point of punishment on Friday, it decided to pay a fine of Rs 50,000 along with life imprisonment to the convicted mother.
The said Sessions Court completed the hearing in this case of Sessions Case No. 93/2022. It is alleged that Anjum Khatoon, wife of Ashad alias Arshad, resident of Padampur village ward number-12 of Jokihat police station area, kept beating and torturing her daughter Zulekha alias Budhani for several days.
In the same sequence, on October 15, 2021, with the intention of killing her, he pushed the daughter down from a high place and kept her spinning in the tempo until she stopped breathing. In which Zulekha died.
Not only this, the local police in their investigation on this incident found that the accused Anjum Khatoon had been beating and torturing the deceased for the past several days to get her to do something wrong, but when Sulekha did not listen to her mother, she murdered her as part of a conspiracy.
The court has mentioned in the judgment that the accused has revealed in his confessional statement that Anjum Khatoon was also in jail for months for the alleged kidnapping of her step-daughter Rubina, due to which the financial condition of her house had become critical.
For this reason, she wanted to do illegal business with her daughter Zulekha, against which her daughter lodged a protest despite suffering torture. The result was that on October 15, Zulekha alias Budhni was murdered as part of a conspiracy.
In this case, Mangri Khatoon, mother-in-law of accused Anjum Khatoon and grandmother of the deceased, had lodged an FIR under case number 487/21 at Mahalgaon police station on 15 October 21. In which granddaughter Anjum Khatoon was accused in the case of murder of her granddaughter.
APP Prabha Kumari appeared on behalf of the government and filed a series of evidence before the court regarding the incident. The court considered this incident of convicted accused Anjum Khatoon as tarnishing the entire humanity and decided to pay fine along with life imprisonment.
