Overloaded vehicle and passengers hanging on it on Lucknow Kanpur National Highway.
Samvad Sutra, Jagran Sarojininagar. The arbitrariness of heavy vehicles on the Lucknow-Kanpur National Highway is not showing any signs of stopping. Vehicles loaded with more goods than their capacity and running openly with passengers are not only flouting traffic rules, but are also posing a big threat to the lives of common people.
Such scenes are common throughout the day on the National Highway, where many people are seen traveling in small goods vehicles crammed with excess luggage. People sitting behind and above the vehicle can become victims of an accident with just a minor shock, but neither the driver cares about it nor the strictness of the concerned department.
Local people say that overloading leads to traffic jams and accidents every day. Despite this, effective action is not being taken by the transport department and traffic police. Especially during rush hour, two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers have to face a lot of trouble due to these vehicles.
People believe that if overloaded vehicles are not controlled in time, a major accident cannot be ruled out. People have demanded from the administration that strict action should be taken against such vehicles by running regular checking campaigns on the National Highway, so that the safety of the passengers can be ensured.
