By joining Jeevika self-help group, she started making bouquets of handmade artificial flowers and today she has become self-reliant and a strong foundation of her family.
Malhi Devi first joined Pragati Jeevika Mahila Gram Sangathan. Through the group, he got a loan of Rs 51 thousand, which he invested to convert his skills into employment.
Despite limited resources, he started making bouquets of artificial flowers from home. In the initial days, there were challenges regarding market access and sales, but he did not lose courage.
Gradually the quality and attractive designs of the bouquets made by him attracted people's attention. Their products started becoming popular in the village as well as in the surrounding markets.
Today Malhi Devi is earning Rs 15 to 20 thousand every month. He has repaid all the loans on time, which has strengthened both his credit and confidence.
The effect of this economic empowerment is clearly visible on his family also. Children are studying in better schools and there has been a positive change in the lifestyle of the family.
