Ashes 5th Test: Australia created history
Sports Desk, New Delhi. Ashes Australia record: Australia changed 134 years of history on the third day of the fifth Test of the Ashes series at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The Kangaroo team did something in one innings which had not been done since the 19th century.
Australia made partnerships of 50 or more runs 7 times in their first innings. In the 134-year history of the Ashes, till date no team has been able to make a partnership of 50+ runs 7 times in an innings.

Actually, earlier in the history of Ashes, the record was 6 partnerships in an innings, which was made by England in Adelaide in 1892, but Australia has now changed the history.

India had achieved the feat of making 7 (50+) partnerships in an innings only once in the entire history of Test cricket. India had achieved this feat in the Oval Test against England in 2007 and Australia has now joined this special club of India.

The special thing is that Australia could have made a new world record of 8 partnerships in this innings, but the partnership between Alex Carey and Steve Smith was only 27 runs, which was the only partnership of this innings which could not reach 50 runs.
AUS vs ENG 5th Test Day 4: Jacob Baithal hits a century
When the Australian team came to play on the fourth day, captain Steve Smith scored 138 runs on 220 balls. Apart from him, Beau Webster played an unbeaten inning of 71 runs. Before him, Travis Head had played an inning of 163 runs till the third day of play.
On the basis of these innings, the Kangaroo team ended with 567 runs in the second innings. At the same time, Australia took a lead of 183 runs over the England team in the first innings. Now the England team has scored 220 runs after losing 5 wickets in 52 overs of the second innings. Jacob Baithal played a century innings. This was his first first class century.
