Dialogue partner, Jagran, Bisauli. An extremely shameful and condemnable incident has come to light that deeply hurts the religious faith and historical heritage of the city. The approximately 177 year old flag site situated in the grounds of the ancient Ramlila Committee was damaged by anarchic and anti-social elements.
Unknown people not only broke the platform built at the flag site, but also broke and took away the tiled statues of Ram Darbar and Lord Ganesha installed there. As soon as information about the incident was received, anger spread in the city. There is deep sadness and anger among the devotees due to the vandalism done to this historical heritage related to religious faith.
As soon as the information was received, Ramlila Committee General Secretary Neeraj Parashari along with his entire team reached the spot in the night itself and took stock of the situation. The General Secretary said that Ramlila Maidan had been turned into a den of drinking by some alcoholics and anti-social elements. When it was explained to them that this place is the center of Lord Shri Ram's pastimes, devotion and cultural tradition and such activities are inappropriate here, they started a dispute.
General Secretary Neeraj Parashari said that considering the seriousness of the situation, he had lodged a complaint in this regard on the Chief Minister Portal. It is feared that angry over the same complaint, anti-social elements targeted the Jhandi site last night and committed this heinous act. Jhandi Sthal has been a symbol of faith of the townspeople for years and has been associated with the sentiments of devotees for generations.
After the incident, the elite citizens of the city including Ramlila Committee have demanded immediate identification of the culprits and strictest action. People say that if the security of such historical and religious places is not ensured, then the courage of anti-social elements will increase further. The residents of the city have demanded from the administration to make permanent security arrangements at the flag site, installation of CCTV cameras and arrest of the culprits.
