Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. Someone created a fake website of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University and uploaded all the information of the real website on it. Links for payment of examination fees etc. were also given on it. So that the children can get confused. In this matter, the website co-ordinator of the university, Dr. Akhtar, lodged an FIR in Baradari police station.
Cyber cell team got involved in the matter and found out the location of the website creator. Police have arrested the accused from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand. Dr. Akhtar told the police that the official website of the university is www.mjpru.ac.in. Recently he got information that someone of the university has created a fake website www.mjpru.org.in. Who is misusing the name and reputation of the university.
The allegation is also that this website is copying the official website of the university and uploading various information and materials, which is creating confusion among the students, relatives and other people. It is alleged that this fake website appears to be part of a planned fraud.
Such websites often appear trustworthy and attempt to extract fees and sensitive personal information from students. Due to which the reputation of the university is in danger of being damaged. It was also alleged that the purpose of this website is to spread confusion and possible fraud.
The police wrote an FIR in the matter and the cyber police station and cyber cell started working on it. Initial investigation revealed that this website has been created from Uttarakhand and the location of the person hosting it is Rudrapur. A police team reached Rudrapur and arrested a person named Sujay Rai from there. The police is interrogating him.
