Ayodhya airport will be expanded.
Vinod Yadav, Ayodhya. In the second phase of construction of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, the terminal will be expanded, so that passengers can get more facilities. Not only this, along with increasing the number of flights, Ramnagari will also be connected to other cities of the country. The construction of the second phase includes many other facilities including runway, terminal, aerobridge, road, air traffic services center, parking for cars and flights.
The expansion will be in approximately five hundred acres, which will cost approximately Rs 17 crore 30 lakh. About Rs 14 crore 50 lakh was spent in the construction of the first phase.
Just before the consecration of Ram Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the airport on 30 December in the year 2023. In the last two years since then, more than seven lakh 85 thousand passengers have boarded flights.
The construction of the second phase of the airport will start after the lease agreement. Departmental process is going on for this. Now there will be two terminals here. The first will be international and the second domestic.
In this, a domestic terminal building will be constructed in 50 thousand square meters, which will have the capacity to seat four thousand passengers simultaneously during peak rush.
Now its area will increase to 56 thousand five hundred square meters. Similarly, the runway will be increased to 3750 meters. There will be an increase of 1550 meters after construction. Earlier it was only 22 hundred meters. The parking area for aircraft will be further increased. There will be provision for 18 new aircraft.
After the increase, 26 aircraft can be parked here. Multilevel car parking will also be constructed in the second phase. One thousand cars can be parked in it. Apart from this, there will be arrangement for parking 350 cars in the open area also.
Not only this, six aerobridges will be built for the movement of passengers from the terminal to the flight. The approach road will also be expanded. An eight-lane road will be built instead of four and a separate air traffic service center will be built.

In the construction of the second phase, emphasis will be laid on increasing passenger facilities at the airport, so that more facilities can be provided to them.
