Jagran correspondent, Shimla. The drug-money laundering case related to Goa is also linked to Himachal. In this case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided various places in Kullu and Solan districts. ED is investigating the connection of drug smuggling in Solan and Kullu since last day. ED's action continued on Sunday also. ED's investigation has revealed that the B2B (business-to-business) supply of narcotics extends to Himachal.
Raids were conducted at 26 locations in seven states.
On January 16, ED's Panaji regional office had conducted a simultaneous search operation at 26 locations in seven states (Goa, Delhi, Odisha, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka). This action has been taken on the basis of the FIR registered by the Anti-Narcotics Branch of Goa Police. A case of drug smuggling in commercial quantities has been registered in this.
ED seized cash and other equipment
ED spokesperson said that investigation has revealed that the organized gang operating from Goa has links with Himachal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Kerala. Here narcotics were being supplied on a commercial scale, due to which the role of the state is considered important in this interstate network. During the search, ED has seized around Rs 3 crore in cash, incriminating documents and several digital devices.
Planned use of courier and postal services
Digital investigation has revealed that courier and postal services were being used systematically to supply many banned drugs including MDMA, charas, cocaine. The money earned from crime was circulated through UPI, bank transfer, digital currency and cash transactions. Layering and complex financial structures were adopted to hide the money.
