Delhi HC strict on Swami Ramdev's deepfake video, calls misuse of AI illegal.
Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Delhi High Court has passed an interim order on Baba Ramdev's petition demanding protection of personal rights.
The bench of Justice Jyoti Singh has granted an interim injunction to the defendants from using the deepfake video as well as the name, image and video of Baba Ramdev.
Instructions to remove material broadcast without consent
Passing the interim order, the court said that Ramdev is a well-known personality and has achieved fame in the field of yoga and Ayurvedic medicine.
The court said that Ramdev's image should be protected. The court directed to remove the material broadcast without Baba Ramdev's consent.
Court said to give opportunity to file reply
However, the court clarified that it should be noted that during the hearing, it was argued by the arbitrator that some of the URLs are other than parody, caricature and mockery and hence, an opportunity should be given to file a reply in respect of the said content before passing an order to remove it.
