Jagran correspondent, Jalandhar. Counter Intelligence Jalandhar has busted a module linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). This module was involved in firing cases related to extortion.
Taking action, the police arrested two main accused and recovered a pistol, magazine and eight live cartridges from their possession. The arrested accused have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Sunny and Rawal, residents of SBS Nagar.
Investigation has revealed that both the accused were working on the instructions of BKI-affiliated handlers sitting abroad, Gopi Navashahariya, Jassi Kulam and Sushant Chopra. Investigation revealed that the accused had fired twice at the house of a travel agent in Garhshankar area with the intention of extorting extortion.
In this regard, an FIR has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) police station located in Amritsar. Police say that the matter is being investigated and other members of the module and the links of the network are being investigated.
