'Babua, Who Used To Wake Up At 12 O'clock, Was Not Worried About The Poor', CM Yogi Said - Scholarships Were Lost To Corruption

State Bureau, Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday sent scholarships worth Rs 944.55 crore to the bank accounts of 18 lakh 78 thousand 726 students of the state through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). He not only transferred the scholarship amount but also raised questions on the working style of the previous governments.

Without taking the name of former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, he said that how can 'Babua', who wakes up till 12 o'clock, be concerned about the education and future of poor children. Earlier, scholarships used to fall victim to corruption at many levels. Now through technology, funds have reached the students' accounts in one click without any discrimination.

In a function organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Yogi said that the government is working with full commitment to take education to the person standing at the last rung of the society. Giving preference to the deprived and the backward is part of the government's thinking. E-governance has been changed to easy governance. Giving the example of a girl student selected as a computer assistant in the State Electricity Generation Corporation, he said that making daughters self-reliant is a big achievement of the government.

The picture of council schools has been changed through Operation Kayakalp. Now schools have better buildings, teachers, basic facilities and quality education. The education system has been strengthened through pre-primary education in Anganwadi centres, nutrition missions, Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya, Atal Residential Schools and composite schools.

Under Abhyudaya Coaching Scheme, facilities for preparation of competitive examinations are being provided. Special attention is also being given to skill development, robotics, drone technology and sports infrastructure. Sports grounds are being constructed in every village, mini stadiums at block level and Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut.

More than 37 lakh students have received benefits

Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge) Asim Arun said that from the next academic session the scholarship will be given according to the semester system. Minister of State for Backward Class Welfare (Independent Charge) Narendra Kashyap said that till now more than 37 lakh students in the state have got the benefit of scholarship and fee reimbursement.

Minority Welfare Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said that earlier scholarships were stopped, now students are being called and given. Minister of State for Minority Welfare Danish Azad Ansari said that earlier one had to stage a dharna for this, now the scholarship has been received for the third time in four months.

In the program, the Chief Minister gave scholarship certificates to some students and mementoes to the youth who achieved success after studying with the scholarship. On this occasion, Chairman of SC-ST Commission Baijnath Rawat, Vishwanath Pratap Singh and beneficiary students were present.
