5 special trains of Chhapra-Gorakhpur canceled

Jagran correspondent, Chhapra. Disappointing news has come from the Railway Administration for the passengers planning to go to Prayagraj (Jhusi) by rail during Magh Mela. North Eastern Railway has withdrawn the earlier announcement of operation of unreserved special trains to be run on the occasion of Magh Mela and has canceled a total of five special trains. Due to this, passengers especially of Chhapra, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur and Badhni areas may have to face inconvenience.

In the official press release issued by the Public Relations Department, North Eastern Railway, Varanasi, it has been said that this decision has been taken due to operational reasons. According to Railways, the unreserved special trains which were proposed to be operated during the Magh Mela period from January 1 to February 17, 2026, will no longer be run during this entire period.

Magh Mela special trains were also canceled

The canceled trains include two trains 05115/05116 and 05117/05118 Magh Mela unreserved special trains on Chhapra-Jhusi-Chhapra route. Apart from this, Badhni – Jhusi – Badhni (05121/05122), Azamgarh – Jhusi – Azamgarh (05119/05120) and Gorakhpur – Prayagraj Rambagh – Gorakhpur (05123/05124) Magh Mela special trains have also been cancelled.

Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, Ashok Kumar said that keeping in mind the needs of railway operations, track management and smooth operation of traffic, the decision to cancel these trains has been taken. He has appealed to the passengers that before traveling to Magh Mela, they must get the updated status of the train from the official website of the Railways, helpline or the nearest station.

Rely on alternative trains or other means

Due to this decision of Railways, devotees attending Magh Mela may have to depend on alternative trains or other means. In such a situation, passengers have been advised to plan their journey in advance, so that any kind of problem can be avoided.
