Digital Desk, New Delhi. The Vigilance Court in Kollam, Kerala on Wednesday granted bail to former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) Chairman and Commissioner N Vasu in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The SIT could not file the charge sheet within 90 days of his arrest, due to which he got the benefit of statutory bail.
According to law, if the charge sheet is not filed within the stipulated period, the accused is entitled to bail. N Vasu was arrested on 11 November 2024. He is the third accused in this case related to alleged irregularities in gold plates and has become the fifth accused to get bail so far. Earlier, main accused Unnikrishnan Potti and Murari Babu have also got relief from the court. Vasu will be released from jail after the necessary paperwork is completed. Vasu is also a leader associated with CPI(M) (CPI-M).
