Big Action By Firozpur Police In The Campaign Against War Drugs; Young Man Arrested With 6 Kg Heroin Recovered

Jagran correspondent, Firozpur. District Police Firozpur has achieved a big success under the “War on Drugs” campaign. Police arrested an accused and recovered 6 kg 38 grams of heroin from his possession. The value of the recovered heroin in the international market is said to be crores of rupees.

Giving information, SSP Firozpur Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that a special campaign is being run against drug smugglers and anti-social elements in the district. Under this campaign, strict instructions have been given to all police officers that no person involved in drug smuggling should be spared. For this, special teams have been formed, which are continuously patrolling and investigating.

CIA was on patrol

He told that the team of CIA staff was on patrol around 8:10 pm on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the police received secret information that Sonu Singh (29), resident of village Kilche, resident of Hall Bhamma Singh Wala alias Mattad, is standing near Kachcha Dam village Aku Wala, waiting to supply it to someone with a consignment of heroin.

As soon as the information was received, the police team immediately reached the spot, laid siege and arrested the accused. During the search, 6 kg 38 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.

Case registered under NDPS

A case has been registered against the accused under NDPS Act in Arif police station. Police are interrogating him so that other people associated with the smuggling network can be traced. The SSP said that this campaign against drugs will continue in the future and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
