Digital Desk, Patna. Bihar Politics: After facing defeat in Bihar elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has suffered another setback. Senior leader of the party, former MP Vijay Krishna has left the party. Vijay Krishna, who was a minister in the Bihar government several times, had created a sensation by defeating the current Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as a JDU candidate from Barh seat in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
74 year old Vijay Krishna has sent his resignation to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad. In this, information has been given about separation from politics. In his resignation letter addressed to the National President, he has written – I have decided to step away from partisan and active politics. He has written that he resigns from the primary membership and all organizational posts of RJD. It has also been requested to accept it.
Vijay Krishna was also in JDU for some time
He also stayed in JDU for some time after not getting ticket from RJD in 2009. However, he returned to RJD after just one year. Vijay Krishna, who returned to RJD during the 2010 assembly elections, was also accused in a murder case.
In that case, in 2013, the court had sentenced four people including Vijay to life imprisonment. After this he went to jail. In that case, in 2022, he came out of jail after almost 10 years after his acquittal.
Vijay Krishna, a socialist leader, became the state general secretary of the Janata Party in 1977. After this, he was elected MLA from Barh seat for two consecutive times in 1990 and 1995 as a Janata Dal candidate. He was made a minister in Lalu and Rabri government.
Nitish Kumar defeated him in 1999. After this, in 2004, RJD made him the candidate from Barh against Nitish Kumar and he won.
