Digital Desk, New Delhi. After the order of the Supreme Court, Aravalli ranges are in constant discussion. Last week, during the hearing on Aravalli, the Supreme Court's decision was being criticized all over the country. At the same time, today the Supreme Court has ordered to suspend its own guidelines.
Hearing the matter, a bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant said, "We consider it necessary to stay the recommendations of the committee and the directions of this court given on November 20, 2025. This stay will remain in effect till the formation of the new committee."
What did the Supreme Court say?
What is Aravali dispute?
Starting from Gir in Gujarat and extending through Rajasthan and Haryana to Raisina Hills in Delhi, the Aravalli mountain range is 670 kilometers long. On November 20, while giving its verdict on illegal mining going on in Aravalli, the Supreme Court had defined it. According to the Supreme Court, "No new lease for mining will be issued until a Management Plan for Sustainable Mining (MPSM) is prepared."
According to the Supreme Court, Aravalli acts as a wall for the Thar Desert, due to which greenery can be seen on the other side of the Aravalli. At the same time, many animals live in Aravali. The decreasing height of Aravali due to illegal mining can cause climate change.
A campaign broke out on social media against this decision of the Supreme Court. Many environmental experts objected to this, after which the Central Government also completely banned mining in Aravali. At the same time, now the Supreme Court has put a stay on its decision and has ordered a re-investigation.
