Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. In view of the road accidents occurring due to fog, the government has taken an important decision. Orders have been issued to stop vehicles on all expressways of the state when visibility is less than 50 meters.
The government order states that all expressway authorities (UPIDA, YEIDA), National Highway Authority of India and UPSHA should ensure that when the visibility on the road is less than 50 meters, all buses are stopped at safe places near public facilities or toll plazas.
Patrolling should be increased in fog-affected corridors and accident-prone areas, and arrangements for ambulances, cranes and fire tenders should be ensured at appropriate locations for any emergency. Adequate lighting arrangements on roads, including solar high-mast lights and anti-fog lights, should be ensured.
Lane marking, reflectors, delineators, cat's eye and appropriate retro-reflective signs should be installed on the roads. Effective patrolling and cranes should be used to immediately remove parked or damaged vehicles from the roadside and move them to designated safe places. ACE CEO of Yamuna Authority Shailendra Bhatia said that the government has issued the order and it will be strictly implemented.
