Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. More than two dozen new colleges will open in BRA Bihar University for the session 2026 - 30. A total of 96 colleges in three categories have applied for affiliation in the new session on the affiliation portal of the Education Department. In this, about two and a half dozen colleges have applied for affiliation for the first time.
In the other two categories, applications have come for permanent affiliation and extension of affiliation. Now an inspection team will be formed from the university level to check the infrastructure and other facilities of the colleges. After this the report will be approved by the New Teaching and Achievement Committee, Academic Council, Syndicate and Senate.
The proposal for affiliation will go to the state government for approval. It is being told that meetings of various statutory bodies are to be held from next month. In such a situation, a committee from the university will already reach the colleges for verification.
On the other hand, even in the last session, no decision has been taken yet on the affiliation proposal of many colleges. On the other hand, 22 colleges have applied for PG studies. Last time also many colleges had applied offline for PG studies.
Instructions were given by the Education Department that for PG studies one has to apply online. On this basis, now a committee will be formed at the university level to check the availability of teachers and other resources in the colleges. There may be an inspection in colleges this month for permission for PG courses.
