Digital Desk, Bhopal. Many influential people have encroached on the catchment area of the big pond of the capital. On Wednesday, the revenue staff, who reached VIP Road to determine the boundary of the pond, marked more than a dozen constructions including the selfie point of the Municipal Corporation, a part of the residence of Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Narendra Shivaji Patel and put yellow marks on them. Notice will be issued to all the occupants and time will be given to submit the documents.
Administration takes action after NGT's strictness
In fact, after the strictness of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the meeting of MP Alok Sharma, the authorities have started demarcation of the pond. On Wednesday, the action continued for three and a half hours in the presence of Naib Tehsildar, RI, Patwari, Municipal Corporation and T&CP officials in Bairagarh (Sant Hirdaram Nagar) circle area.
In this, many constructions were identified including KK House in the 50 meter catchment area of Bada Talab, part of the bungalow of Minister of State Narendra Shivaji Patel, houses of Kale Khan, Rashid and Munir, Mohammad Afzal Khan, Dr. Rajiv Singh, Shoaib Dastagir (Super Builder), selfie point of Municipal Corporation, two other houses and the boundary and gate of a religious place.

Big action once in 10 years, four surveys
In the last 10 years, a major action to remove encroachments spread in the catchment of Bada Talab was to remove 386 houses of Bhadbhada slum, whereas since 2016 till now, survey was conducted four times, but the limit could not be decided.
The demarcation of Bada Talab has started from Bairagarh circle. Huzoor, there will be demarcation in TT Nagar and city circle also. All constructions within a radius of 50 meters in urban areas and 250 meters in rural areas will be removed. - Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Collector
