State Bureau, Ranchi. CM Hemant Soren's petition challenging the cognizance of the MP-MLA court was heard in the court of AK Choudhary of Jharkhand High Court on Thursday.
After hearing both the sides, the court rejected the petition. The court said that the High Court cannot interfere in the matter at this stage.
During the hearing, it was said on behalf of Hemant Soren that he was replying to the ED summons. A letter was also written on his behalf to give time on many summonses.
ED said- Hemant did not appear on the date of summons
ED was also assisted in the investigation. Advocates Zoheb Hussain, AK Das and Saurav Kumar, appearing for the ED, said that the applicant was summoned several times. But he did not appear on the date of summons.

Hemant Soren had given challenge in the High Court
This was challenged in the High Court on behalf of Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren had requested the High Court to cancel the cognizance of the MP-MLA court, calling it wrong.
In the complaint filed by the ED, it has been said that 10 summons were sent to Hemant Soren in the Badagai land scam case, out of which he appeared before the ED only on two summons.
ED says that this falls under the category of disobeying the summons. Let us tell you that on the instructions of the High Court, CM Hemant Soren had appeared in the MP-MLA court in this matter.
