Digital Desk, Patna. The budget session started in Bihar Assembly on Monday. During this, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan said in his address that the Nitish Kumar government is committed to creating one crore jobs and employment opportunities in the state in the next five years.

Addressing both Houses of the state legislature on the first day of the month-long budget session, the Governor also said that maintaining the rule of law and communal harmony is the top priority of the government, which is working towards achieving 'development with justice'.

The Governor said, "The government has so far provided jobs and employment opportunities to 50 lakh youth. By 2030, one crore youth will get jobs and employment opportunities."

It is noteworthy that the promise of 'one crore jobs' was first made by the ruling NDA in its manifesto for the 2025 assembly elections, which was won by the BJP-led alliance with an overwhelming majority.

'Maintaining the rule of law is top priority'

The Governor also said, "Maintaining the rule of law and communal harmony is also the top priority of the state government. To strengthen law and order, the number of police personnel has been increased to 1.21 lakh, while the number of police stations has increased to 10,380. Bihar also has the highest percentage of women police personnel."

He further said that in line with its motto of 'Development with Justice', the government is working towards empowerment of women and there are now 1.40 crore women volunteers enrolled in 'Jeevika' self-help groups in the state.

Women will get Rs 2 lakh

Referring to the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana, launched just before the assembly elections, the Governor said, "Rs 10,000 crore were given to women to start their own businesses. Those who are able to utilize the money properly will get up to Rs 2 lakh."

Khan also talked about the increase in farmers' income in the last few years in Bihar and the government's efforts for health and education by setting up schools, colleges and hospitals across the state.
