Dr. Sushmita Jha, a resident of Sarisabpahi of Madhubani district, who has done PhD in Music, did the wonderful work of adapting the Maithili translation done by renowned poet and litterateur Arvind Neeraj into the spirit of music.
His composition and singing presented Vande Mataram in the musical style of Mithila in such a way that patriotism came to the fore with a new feeling and a new sensitivity. This presentation emerged as not just a song, but a living example of linguistic diversity, cultural unity and respect for the mother tongue.
Republican values—unity, pluralism, and inclusion—found powerful expression through music. The dignity, emotional height and original soul of the national anthem was completely preserved in the translation, which connected it deeply with the common people.
