Digital Desk, Gwalior. The family of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti has received death and bomb threats. His daughter-in-law and District Panchayat President Umita Rahul Lodhi, resident of Tikamgarh, has lodged a complaint at the Dehat police station. Police have registered a case against unknown accused under various sections of the Indian Justice Code and started investigation.
Threatened on social media
The incident took place on the night of 22 February. According to Umita Lodhi, she had shared a post on internet media (Facebook) on 21 February. A controversial comment came on the same post at around 10:30 pm on 22nd February from an ID named GW Brijendra Kushwaha. In this, an open threat was given to kill and bomb her and her husband, former minister Rahul Lodhi.
Masked men reached near the bungalow
Showing caution, Umita Lodhi immediately took a screenshot of the comment. Just half an hour after this threat, at around 11 pm, two unknown masked youths reached his bungalow located at Dehat police station. Umita Lodhi told that when she looked down from the balcony, the youth started abusing her and repeated the threat of killing her. After raising noise, the accused fled from the spot. After the complaint, considering the seriousness of the matter, the police have registered an FIR against unknown accused under sections 296 (B), 351 (3), and 3 (5).
Police officials say that CCTV footage of the bungalow and surrounding areas is being scrutinized. The cyber cell team is also investigating the internet media account from which the threat was made. Since the case is related to the family of the former CM, the police is using all its strength to arrest the accused. Former MLA Rahul Singh Lodhi has also confirmed the incident and demanded strict action against the accused.
