Jagran correspondent, Patna. Due to dense fog and cold wind, the effect of Kankani will remain in the state. There is no possibility of much improvement in the weather till January 4. According to Meteorological Center Patna, there is a warning of cold day in seven districts of the state, Gopalganj, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Madhepura and Purnia on Friday.
Dense fog will prevail in the northern parts of the state. Due to Pachhua, the influence of Kankani will remain in the surrounding areas including Patna. Not much change in temperature is expected during the five days.
Jiradei of Siwan was the coldest
On Thursday, severe cold day prevailed in Chhapra and Madhubani and cold day situation prevailed in Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur. Jiradei in Siwan was the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of the capital this season was recorded at 8.2 degrees Celsius.
The lowest visibility was recorded in Bhagalpur at 20 metres. The state recorded a minimum temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius with a high of 10.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of the capital was recorded at 19.3 degrees Celsius. There was moderate fog in the morning in Patna and surrounding areas. Despite the sun being out during the day, due to the westerly, the effect of Kankani remained during the day and night.
The minimum temperature of Gayaji, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Chhapra, Sabour, Dehri, Sheikhpura, Vaishali, Aurangabad, Rajgir, Kishanganj, Munger and Jehanabad of the state was recorded below 10 degrees Celsius.
Temperature will be lower than normal
According to Meteorological Center, Patna, the minimum temperature in most parts of the country in January is likely to be below normal. The minimum temperature in the month is likely to be between nine to 12 degrees Celsius. Whereas, the maximum temperature of the state is likely to be above normal. Cold wave is likely to be above normal in western parts of the state.
