Water Being Packed Without License In Gorakhpur, Gate Not Opened After Raid

Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. The Food Safety and Drug Administration team that came to raid on information about packing and selling of water without license had to return empty handed. When the team arrived for the raid, the operator closed the gate. After every attempt to open the gate failed, the officers pasted a notice on the gate and instructed the operator to come to the office immediately, but the operator did not reach the officers till late in the night. Anticipating adulteration, the team took samples of boondi, namkeen and gram flour from different places.

Assistant Commissioner Food Dr. Sudhir Kumar Singh said that information was received that water is being packed and sold without license in Koilhwa on Nakaha Number 2 Sports College Road. On information, Food Safety Officer Swaminath, Umashankar Singh were sent to the spot along with SK Srivastava. The main gate of the complex where complaint of water packing was received was found from inside.

When a person named Pradeep was talked to inside, he informed about opening the gate only after talking to the owner. While the team was still waiting, the person jumped the gate and ran away. After no one else was found at the spot, the notice was pasted. It is written in the notice that it is necessary to open the establishment and conduct the investigation in the presence of the operator. If this does not happen, action will be taken against the operator under obstruction in government work.

The license of the machine in the premises has been surrendered. Officials say that earlier a person was working there with a license in the premises where the raid was conducted on the information of packing and selling of water. He had surrendered the license after several deficiencies were found in the investigation conducted recently. Even after this, information was being received about water being packed and sold. Bundi powder seized in Chauri Chaura. The team of Chief Food Safety Officer Kamal Narayan Singh inspected M/s SR Enterprises in Mundera, Chauri Chaura. 34 kg Bundi powder was seized here. The price of the powder is approximately two and a half thousand rupees.

M/s Samriddhi Traders of Jitendra Lakhmani located at Munderi Chak in Tiwaripur was inspected. A sample of salty water was taken from here. A notice was issued for not finding arrangements as per the standards in the premises.
