Now biometric attendance is mandatory for doctors and health workers.
State Bureau, Lucknow. Biometric attendance is now being made mandatory in the health department. Director General Medical Health Dr. Ratan Pal Singh Suman has given instructions to make arrangements for biometric attendance for officers and health workers posted at all district, women's, joint hospitals, community health centers (CHC), primary health centers (PHC). He has instructed the in-charges of all health units to release salaries on this basis.
The health department has 105 district, men's, women's and combined hospitals. Apart from this there are 975 CHCs and more than 3750 PHCs. In the first phase, biometric attendance facility will be started at hospitals and CHCs. After this, in the second phase, arrangements will be made for biometric attendance at PHC also.
There are approximately 8,500 doctors, 6,500 pharmacists, 2,200 lab technicians, 820 X-ray technicians, five thousand nurses, 15 thousand class IV employees, ECG technicians, lab attendants, dark room technicians in the health department. Now all of them will be required to register biometric attendance.
Apart from this, instructions have also been given to make arrangements for biometric attendance in the offices of all Chief Medical Officers (CMO) and Additional Board of Directors.
The Director General said that about two months time has been given to install the necessary equipment to register attendance in hospitals. After this everyone will have to register biometric attendance only. Salary will be released only after this.
It is noteworthy that the government is continuously making efforts to ensure 100% presence of doctors and health workers in remote and rural areas. A doctor who has been absent for a long time is also being dismissed. Now with the system of biometric attendance, it will be possible to monitor everyone.
