IANS, New Delhi. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is again surrounded by political storm due to his statements. In a media program, he criticized Rahul Gandhi and his anti-India propaganda and said that the foreign policy is not of any party, but of the country.

BJP and JDU supported his statement saying that there is a need to promote national unity on the global stage, while the opposition keeps targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on international forums also.

At the same time, Congress criticized Tharoor's statement and raised questions and said that he should also speak on the insult of Nehru.

Let us tell you that Shashi Tharoor had said in a media program that India's foreign policy is not linked to BJP or Congress, but represents India as a country. If a politician celebrates the defeat of a Prime Minister, he is in a way celebrating India's defeat.

Tharoor also gave the example of the statement of the country's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in which he had said that if India dies, then who will survive.

Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Kadam said that Shashi Tharoor's statement is full of truth and it is clear that the Prime Minister is not the leader of any party, but the leader of the entire country. Unfortunately, the way leaders like Rahul Gandhi make comments, criticize or make mocking statements is sad. Such comments hurt the pride and spirit of India. Rahul Gandhi should at least listen to his party leader.

JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said that till now the parties have maintained unity on issues like foreign policy and national security, but unfortunately now the internal issues of the country are being made the subject of discussion abroad.

Why is Tharoor silent on Nehru's criticism?

Congress leaders attacked Tharoor and asked why he does not respond when BJP criticizes former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The leaders have appealed to Tharoor not to become a slave of PM Modi.

Former Congress Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao said Tharoor should also speak for former prime ministers. There have been such PMs in the country who even went to jail for serving the country and are still being insulted.

Shashi Tharoor is behaving like a sycophant

Odisha unit president of Congress Bhakta Charan Das said that Shashi Tharoor is behaving like a sycophant. I respect his intelligence. His statement may be his opinion but he should also speak on the current system of the country.
