Jagran correspondent, Patna. Bihar is shivering due to cold westerly wind and fog. Cold day like conditions prevail in the state. At present, there is no hope of getting relief from the harsh cold till January 1. A warning has been issued regarding dense fog along with cold day in the state.

Aircraft and train operations have also been affected due to severe cold and fog. On Saturday, 100 meter visibility was recorded in the capital and the lowest visibility was 50 meter in Gayaji. Cold day like conditions persisted in Chhapra. People are in bad condition due to fog and cold in the state since last one week.

According to the weather forecast of Patna Meteorological Center, the effect of dense fog will continue till January 1 due to cold day like conditions in different parts of the state. Due to icy west wind there will be rain day and night.

Gayaji was colder than Jammu

Gayaji was the coldest place this season in the state on Saturday. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Gayaji was less than that of Jammu city. The minimum temperature of Jammu city was recorded at 7.1 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 18.7 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in the capital was recorded at 12.1 degrees Celsius, an increase of 3.1 degrees. The maximum temperature of the capital was recorded at 14.8 degrees Celsius. There remained a difference of three degrees between the maximum and minimum temperatures of the capital. The highest temperature was recorded in Dehri at 19.8 degrees Celsius.

Below 10 degrees Celsius, the temperature of Bikramganj was recorded at 6.3, Aurangabad at 7.4, Arwal at 8.5 and Forbesganj at 9.2 degrees Celsius. Due to Pachhua, the influence of Kankani remained in the capital and surrounding areas on Saturday.

Cold Day: According to the Meteorological Centre, a cold day is when the minimum temperature is less than 10 degrees Celsius for two consecutive days and the maximum temperature falls by 4.5 to 6.4 degrees.

If the minimum temperature is less than 10 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature falls by more than 6.5 degrees Celsius, it is called a severe cold day.

So cold in Gayaji after 2022

According to the data received from the Meteorological Center, after 2022, December 27, 2025 was the coldest in Gayaji state with 5.2 degrees Celsius. In 2022, the minimum temperature of Gayaji was recorded at 5.7 degrees Celsius on December 28, in 2023 it was 6.1 degrees Celsius on December 19 and in 2024 the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.3 degrees Celsius on December 15.
