PTI, London. Two people, including an Indian-origin man, have been sentenced to jail in Britain for murdering an 81-year-old Sikh woman. A media report gave this information. Let us inform that on November 13, 2022, 81-year-old Surinder Kaur died after being hit by a vehicle on Oldbury Road in Rowley Regis, West Midlands County.
The news quoted the police as saying that Arjun Dosanjh (26) and Jacek Wiatrowski (51) did not know each other but after meeting at a traffic signal, they decided to race. According to the news, both the drivers were driving at a speed much more than the prescribed limit.
According to CCTV footage, Viatrowski, who was driving a BMW car, immediately applied brakes after seeing Surinder Kaur crossing the road and she had a narrow escape. But Dosanjh turned his vehicle on the wrong side of the road. He avoided hitting the BMW but hit Surinder Kaur.
Sentenced to six years imprisonment
Viatrowski and Dossanjeh were sentenced to six years in prison and banned from driving for eight years at Wolverhampton Crown Court last Monday, the BBC reports.
