Education Desk, New Delhi. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which conducts various recruitment examinations for central government jobs, has been allocated Rs 525.2 crore for 2026-27. In the last budget, it was allocated Rs 515.15 crore for the current financial year, which has been revised to Rs 548.5 crore.
Rs 299 crore allocated for training of government employees
The Union Budget states that Rs 299 crore has been allocated for the training of government employees for the next financial year. Of this, the provision of Rs 120.8 crore covers expenses related to the establishment of the Delhi-based Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), Mussoorie-based Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBLNAA) and the Department of Training, Ministry of Personnel and Training. Rs 52.2 crore is for training schemes and Rs 126 crore is for the Centre's ambitious 'Mission Karmayogi' or capacity building program of national civil services. It has a provision to promote training related to essential infrastructure both in the country and abroad. The provision of Rs 65 crore for administrative reforms includes a scheme for modernization of government offices, pilot projects on administrative reforms. This includes promoting e-governance, encouraging good governance and creating a holistic system for redressal of public grievances.
Education sector got Rs 1 lakh 39 thousand crores
According to the budget shared by the Finance Ministry, a total of Rs 139289.48 lakh crore has been allocated to the Ministry of Education. Out of this, Rs 83562.26 thousand crore has been allocated to the Department of School Education and Literacy, while Rs 55727.22 thousand crore has been allocated to the Department of Higher Education.
