Even after receiving compensation, the building owner was not removing the affected area. Awakening

Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. The district administration has intensified its strict action due to obstruction in the work of channelization of Goddhoiya drain and Ramgarhtal renovation project. On Friday, a joint team of Revenue Department and Jal Nigam demolished a building which was obstructing the construction of drain in Maithripuram area. The building owner himself asked to remove some part, after which the stalled construction work was restarted.

According to officials, during the construction of the drain, the affected portion of the house of Kirti Singh's wife Raghavendra Singh was being acquired, compensation for which had already been given. Despite this, even after giving oral and written notices several times, the encroached portion was not removed.

Due to this the construction work was being disrupted. On Thursday, the matter became more serious after the incident of assault with the employees associated with the drain construction, on which the higher officials immediately took cognizance.
