Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), taking a strict stand against unplanned and illegal development in the authority area, on Thursday demolished illegal plotting being done on a total of 125 bighas of land in Langha Road and Horawala area.
This action is being seen as a clear warning being given by the authority on violation of rules that neither plotting will be allowed without approval nor illegal colonies will be allowed to flourish in Mussoorie and Doon area.
In the presence of police force, the MDDA team demolished the illegal plotting, internal roads, demarcation done on about 25 bighas of land near Horawala Road, Chharba ITI and about 100 bighas of land on Langha Road, Chharba Sahaspur with bulldozers. At both the places, plots were being sold by dividing land without the permission of the authority and illegal development was being done in the form of a colony.
MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari clarified that no person will be allowed to develop illegal colonies in the authority area by ignoring the rules. He said that this not only creates urban chaos but also has an adverse effect on future development plans. Therefore MDDA gives priority to planned development and such strict action will continue in future also.
The technical team of the authority including Assistant Engineer Shashank Saxena, Junior Engineer Siddharth Semwal, Supervisor Manish Nautiyal and adequate police force were present in the action.
