Bundelkhand will become the center of natural farming with the initiative of Yogi government

Digital Desk, Lucknow. Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has adopted natural farming on mission mode to change the face of agriculture in the state. Due to the active strategy of the government, so far 94,300 hectares of area in all 75 districts of the state has been brought under natural farming, which is soon going to touch the historical figure of one lakh hectares. This campaign is not only an expansion of farming but also a big resolution to establish a sustainable and healthy agricultural system by eliminating chemical dependency.

Bundelkhand: New model of natural farming

Bundelkhand region has been kept at the center of this comprehensive campaign. Yogi government has started a special 'cow-based natural farming' program on 23,500 hectare area in districts like Jhansi, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda and Chitrakoot. The aim of this initiative is to make agriculture in areas like Bundelkhand more sustainable and profitable for farmers, so that the region can emerge as a successful model for the entire state.

Mantra of cost reduction and income increase

The main focus of Yogi government is based on the principle of 'low cost, high benefit'. Farmers' dependence on chemical fertilizers and expensive pesticides is being reduced by promoting the use of natural fertilizers like Jeevamrit and Ghanjeevamrit. This is not only reducing the input cost of farming, but is also paving the way for increasing the income of farmers through pure and natural crops.

Environment and soil conservation

According to Shyam Bihari Gupta, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Gauseva Aayog, natural farming improves the structure of the soil and increases its water holding capacity. This feature is no less than a boon for low rainfall areas like Bundelkhand. Branding of natural products and spread of eco-friendly technologies are witnessing revolutionary changes in protecting human health as well as in the regional agricultural economy.

Self-reliant farmers and special training

The government is conducting large-scale training programs to equip farmers with these modern technologies. Through these programs, farmers are being made self-reliant so that they can make natural farming system a part of the mainstream. This visionary policy of Uttar Pradesh is proving to be a 'game changer' in the direction of environmental protection and empowerment of farmers.
