Jagran correspondent, Srinagar Garhwal. Anil Chauhan (Chief of Defense Staff) has reached Chauras campus of Garhwal University. On his arrival the university administration welcomed him in traditional style.
CDS presented a total of 227 important books related to India, international relations and cyber security to the Central Library. These books were formally included in the Central Library of the University. The books are based on subjects like national security, strategic studies and global scenario, which will provide special benefit to the students and researchers.
On this occasion, CDS reached the university with his wife Anupama Chauhan. Uttarakhand Government Cabinet Minister Dhan Singh Rawat was also present in the program.
CDS Anil Chauhan, chief of the three armies of the country, will interact with the students of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Central University and Veer Chandra Singh Government Medical Research Institute. This is the first time that the CDS will also interact with the students of medical education.
The resident of Gawana village of Khirsu block of Pauri Garhwal is the second CDS of the country. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the local people about his one-day visit. Let us tell you that the first CDS of the country was Late. Bipin Rawat also interacted with the students of Garhwal University in the year 2021. He was also a resident of Pauri Garhwal. Here, today on Saturday, there is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in Garhwal University and Medical College due to the program of the country's top military officer.
Folk culture and customs of Garhwal are also being displayed in the welcome of CDS. Anil Chauhan, CDS of Traditional Musical Instruments, will be welcomed in the Chauras campus of the University. Here, arrangements regarding the program have also been made well in the medical college. Principal Dr. Ashutosh Sayana said that this is a new experience for all of us.
The soil respects its sons: Vice Chancellor Prof. Sriprakash
Vice Chancellor Prof. Shriprakash Singh said in his address that 227 books presented by CDS were duly released by Anil Chauhan himself.
He said that these books related to India, international relations and cyber security will prove to be very useful for students and researchers. Research students in particular will get immense academic benefit from these context-rich books. The Vice Chancellor said in emotional words, “When a worthy son returns to his soil, the soil also welcomes him.
Today Devbhoomi and the ancestral area of CDS are feeling blessed.” He said that the army personnel are always ready to ensure that the common citizens can sleep peacefully. For this he thanked CDS. He also said that coming out of Gawana area of Pauri Garhwal and reaching the highest post of the Army brings glory not only to the family and the state but also to the entire country and inspires the youth.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Referring to an interesting coincidence, Shriprakash Singh said that he had taken charge on Saturday, 21st June last year and today 21st February is also a Saturday. In such a situation, it is a happy coincidence for CDS to be present in the university on the occasion of completion of eight months.
CDS General Anil Chauhan is the people's leader of Garhwal: Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat
Addressing the program, Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that Anil Chauhan is the public leader of Garhwal. Coming from a small village Gawana and reaching the highest post of the army is a matter of pride for the entire region. He said that now the road has reached the village of CDS. Since this morning, we have been receiving continuous calls from the villagers that CDS should be brought to the village also.
Dr. Rawat urged the CDS to visit his native village during the proposed tour in April. He said that it is also a matter of pride for him that he is the MLA from CDS Chauhan's home constituency.
The minister informed that CDS's wife Anupama Chauhan has been an alumnus of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University and due to her efforts the university has received important books. Dr. Rawat invited Anupama Chauhan to come to the village during her next visit and visit Dhari Devi temple. He also said smilingly that you must visit your in-laws' house once.
