Jagran correspondent, Haldwani. Government Medical's Haldwani has once again come into limelight. About three months ago, an assistant professor had resigned due to being upset with the students. Now the students of the department have filed a complaint against an assistant professor of the same department for insulting and harassing medical students and quarreling with other doctors. The students have made this complaint verbally to the Principal, now there is talk of setting up an inquiry on the matter.
Some PG students of a department of the medical college have complained to the Principal, Dr. GS Titiyal, against an assistant professor on several issues. The students had also gone to give a complaint letter to the Principal regarding the matter, but he has gone to Dehradun for some work. On this, the students complained verbally to the Principal over the phone that he used abusive language and caste based words on the students.
At the same time, objectionable comments are made to the girl students on seeing their clothes and walking with someone. Apart from this, a faculty of the medical college told that a few days ago the said assistant professor had a fight with a doctor over parking. In which he also used wrong language. In their complaint, the students said that he threatens to fail them and mark less attendance.
At the same time, they are called to private rooms and ask inappropriate questions, due to which mental pressure is increasing among the students. Regarding this matter, the students have warned the Principal that if no action is taken against the said Assistant Professor then they will complain to the National Medical Commission, UGC Anti-Ragging Cell or National Human Rights Commission. Now today i.e. on Saturday the Principal is going to conduct an inquiry on this matter.
Complaint regarding the matter has been received. I have returned from Dehradun. This is a matter of investigation. A high level inquiry will be set up on this matter.
